Training on "Script Writing & Storyboarding" seminar workshop was hosted by the Western Philippines University in Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan on August 6 to 11, 2007.

     This seminar workshop is one of the initiatives of the Commission on Information and Communication Technology (CICT) and the Human Capital Development Group (HCDG) under the Office the President.

     The activities of the seminar workshop are as follows:

 DAY 1:

     For the morning session, the BSU group met and brainstormed about the sripts for storyboarding. The group is composed of two teams namely: Prof. Sala Mander and Coach Potato.

     Afternoon sessions started with a short opening and welcome program by Prof. Nilo Banlawe, Project Manager for CICT projects under WPU.

     A short lecture on storyboarding was given by the resource lecturer and the different teams from the different SUCs started with the storyboard workshop.

 

DAY 2 & 3:

     Workshop on creating a storyboard for the scripts continued. The resource lecturer gave his insights and suggestions to storyboard drafts made before making the final draft for presentation.

 

DAY 4:

     Presentation of storyboard for comments and suggestions were made by the participants. BSU was able to present two storyboards for two projects under the Content Development Project.

DAY 5:

     As reward to the participants' on-time delivery of the storyboard presentation, the trainees were able to visit the underground river (aside from the CITY TOUR that was given to on Aug. 5, 2007).

On August 10, the trainess went to the underground river, which is about 2 hours away from Puerto Prinsesa. We had to take a boat ride to the site.

     After the long trip from the underground river, the President of WPU, hosted a dinner fellowship on-board the Western Princess. I big boat under the custody of the university.

     The five day seminar-workshop was a different kind of experience for most of the participants. To most of us, it was an enriching and educational experience to be among the trainees.
